Each workshop will teach the basics of needleturn applique – the way Irene does it. Straight line applique, curves, points in leaves, circles and stems. Irene will teach you how to prepare your shapes as well as glue them onto the background using a lightbox – this is essential for the workshop. Using the lightbox eliminates many steps in the prep process that she used to do many years ago (in the dark ages!!)
For Irene, needleturn applique must be fun!! Needleturn applique does not have to be accurate – our perceived mistakes are all part of the charm of our quilts.
Quilting is Irene's passion. She loves applique and has lots of tricks and techniques to share with quilters that have been too afraid of tackling applique projects. She loves to see how much fun they have when they realize that they can succeed.
