Improvisational piecing simply means chopping up a square and inserting a thin strip of fabric between the cuts. Each block is cut slightly different. For even more interest, add some free-form strips between the blocks to offset them even more.

Use any 8-step Fat Quarter bundle from Cherrywood Fabrics, plus one yard of a border color and half yard of an accent color.
