Quick E-P with Judy Ballance

If you love the look of English Paper Pieced (EPP) quilts, but would never make them, because of the hand piecing and the time involved, then this class is for you. If you enjoy the EPP technique but you want to make more than one quilt in your lifetime then this class is for you. The Quick English Piecing (Quick E-P) technique, is a new process that allows the paper pieces to be assembled in a new way so they can be stitched/sewn entirely with a sewing machine.

This is a technique class and you will get a book and pieces printed on partially water soluble fusible appliqué paper. Two different examples/blocks will be done in the class. The first example is a simple grandmothers flower garden block and the second example is a more intricate ten-pointed star. The new technique you will learn in this class can be used with any EPP pattern. With this technique fussy cutting is easy and it greatly reduces the time required to make an EPP quilt.

Instructor: Judy Ballance
Instructor Bio: I'm an avid quilter and I have made over 400 quilts in the 18 years I have been quilting. I love doing my own quilt designs and adapting purchased designs to personalize my quilts. I also love to teach quilting and I have taught at many of the local shops over the years. I have also presented at many local quilt guilds in Tuscaloosa, Athens, Huntsville and Madison. My philosophy of teaching is to show you the tips and tricks I have learned and to make the learning experience fun and creative. I encourage students to add their own touches to their quilt and to think outside of the box.
