English Paper Pieced Variations on the Moravian Star Class
In this class we will cover two different variations on the lovely Moravian Star. We will go over cutting, basting and sewing methods for these lovely ornaments.
It is recommended that you have made at least one regular star first as we will focus more on the different techniques needed for these variants, rather than basic techniques.

Supplies needed:
Variation 1:
1 1/2 inch Triangle paper pieces (60) - Sweet Home Quilting has ordered these
Fabric - depends on your preferences. I used 5 different fabrics fussy cut for motifs from fat quarters. You can use as few or as many as you like, just keep in mind that you will need more if you plan to fussy cut.
Variation 2:
1/2 inch Pentagon paper pieces (12) - Sweet Home Quilting has ordered these
1/2 inch Jewel paper pieces (60) - Sweet Home Quilting has ordered these
Fabrics - I used a Charm pack to make a scrappy look for this ornament. You can choose as many or as few fabrics as you like, just keep in mind that you may need more for fussy cutting. It is also recommended that you take your paper pieces when choosing fabric to ensure you don’t choose a design that is too large.
Other supplies include:
Fabric Glue Pen
80 weight thread to match fabric
Size 10 milliners needles or size 11 Milliners needle
Scissors
Pencil, or fabric marking pen
8 inches 3/8 inch coordinating ribbon
Optional: small cutting mat, small ruler, rotary cutter, thimble, sewtites or wonder clips, and any other supplies that make your sewing easier.
