Birdsville Quilt Class Supplies
•Birdsville Pattern by Wendy Williams (this will be available at sweethomequilting.com)
•Cotton or Linen Fabric according to the pattern if you want to do a pieced background or if you want a non-pieced background you will need a piece of linen or cotton at least 40 X 48 inches
•A variety of wool fabrics for the birds, leaves and flowers- Please note I have a large piece of brown wool that I will give you to make the tree
•Applique pins
•Freezer paper
•Sewing machine in good working order that will sew a blanket stitch or a small zigzag stitch. It’s also helpful to have a knee lift with your machine but this is optional
•Sewing supplies to include rotary cutter, seam ripper, scissors, pencil/marker, pins e.t.c…..
•Misty fuse or set fuse
•Chenille needles size 22 or 24
•Tulip Bullion knot needle
•Small pincushion for drizzle stitches
•A variety of perle cotton threads in size 5 and size 8
•A variety of cotton fabric that has circular motifs
•Sue Spargo Creative Stitching 2nd edition is very, very helpful but optional

| Instructor Bio: | I'm an avid quilter and I have made over 400 quilts in the 18 years I have been quilting. I love doing my own quilt designs and adapting purchased designs to personalize my quilts. I also love to teach quilting and I have taught at many of the local shops over the years. I have also presented at many local quilt guilds in Tuscaloosa, Athens, Huntsville and Madison. My philosophy of teaching is to show you the tips and tricks I have learned and to make the learning experience fun and creative. I encourage students to add their own touches to their quilt and to think outside of the box. |
